About Karen

I combine years of experience and education working with families and children: I have two masters degrees, and an early childhood certificate. I have been trained and worked as a Waldorf kindergarten teacher, a pre-school director, and a litigation paralegal in a family law firm.

I have been drawn to working with children my entire adult life. And this is the work I do best.  As a licensed marriage and family therapist I bring those skills acquired as early as when I was a camp counselor, and college sociology student, and then teacher, pre-school director, and a UCLA-Extension family law litigation paralegal into the therapy room. More and more I am aware how the unmet needs of the wounded child can negatively impact our current relationships as adults. I enhance traditional talk therapy with the creative aspects of our natural world: ANIMALS, SAND and ART to explore, help address and heal those unfulfilled needs, in both children and adults to achieve more satisfying relationships with others and ourselves, as well.
